Lead Came Assembly

The traditional method of making Stained Glass uses lead came. This is the method used for centuries in Europe, mainly in religious buildings such as cathedrals, churches and monasteries, and including wealthy or aristocratic homes.

We teach and use this method for building stained glass windows and cabinet door panels

Copper Foil Assembly

Copper foil was invented in the 19th century, enabling creation of three-dimensional works, in addition to two-dimensional ones to which the lead came method is limited. The copper foil artwork is also know as Tiffany stained glass. The small details that can be achieved with Copper Foil greatly surpasses what’s possible with Lead Came

Fusing Glass Basics

Fused glass is a term used to describe glass that has been fired in a kiln at temperatures around 1500 °F.

Students will participate in all aspects of fusing including how to program a kiln, understanding how the glass reacts to different firing times and temperatures, learn about different C.O.E. and learn what C.O.E. means!  Student will also get a demonstration (and even participate!) in more intricate glass techniques such as glass combing and making a vitrograph!

Each student will make two nightlights, price includes material. This course will give a solid foundation with which to attempt more complex projects.

This course will be a prerequisite for some of our future, more elaborate courses.

We will also be having guest Artizan instructors!
